With properties commonly known for cleansing and purifying, Lemon essential oil can be used in the household for many reasons. Add a few drops in warm water for cleaning countertops and floors and even removing tarnishes of silver or copper jewelry and utensils. Lemon also is a wonderful astringent for the skin and can treat acne.

Little Known Facts: Lemon trees usually mature and produce fruit after 3 years. Lemon essential oil is photosensitive, which means it absorbs, then enhances the energy of UV rays. Photosensitizing oils applied to the skin without proper dilution and exposed to sunlight or UV rays within 12hours, will cause the skin to burn faster and deeper. Therefore, it is always safe to avoid sun exposure for at least 12 hours after applying Lemon essential oil to the skin.

Recipes:

Air Freshener

  • Add 8 drops of Lemon
  • 4 drops of Lavender
  • 4 drops of Rosemary
  • to 1oz of distilled water and spray in the home to purify the air.

For Seasonal Allergy Relief

  • Add 3 drops of Lemon
  • 5 drops of Lavender
  • 3 drops of Peppermint
  • to a rollerball filled with your favorite carrier oil
  • apply under the feet and down the spine as often as needed.

The same mix can be added to your Mila Eve Essential Diffuser for aromatherapy.

For Pain Related to Gout

  • Add 8 drops of Lemon
  • 5 drops of Juniper Berry
  • 4 drops of Tea Tree
  • 2 drops of Roman Chamomile
  • to 1oz of your favorite Mila Eve Essentials carrier oil and apply as often as needed for pain relief.
